We've been on a slight hiatus, but this update is bringing some foundational features to Toontown in Unity. This update will mainly focus on multi-toon battles, cog mechanics, and gag experience points. For this testing session we'll ensure these functions work as expected.

Features

  • Horizontal and Vertical Sensitivity options added to settings.
  • Multiple toons can now enter the battle.
  • Inventory UI has been expanded with a gags tab.
    • You can view the gags you've collected and how much experience they have.
  • Book textures changed.
  • Gag experience has been added but nothing happens once the experience bar is maxed. However, the experience points do not cap.
  • Cog Mechanics have been added. Mechanics are a passive bonus each cog type will own.
  • Flunky has been reworked to the following
    • Attack: 5 -> 1
    • Health: 15 -> 10
    • Mechanic Added: Assistant (+1 Attack to other Cogs)
    • Attack added: Clip-on-Tie (Deals 100% of attack to a single Toon). 75% chance to use.
    • Attack added: Report Back (Adds +1 Attack to other Cogs). 25% chance to use if another cog is in the battle.
  • Toons now gain the Cupcake Gag on creation/if they don't have any Gags collected.

Removed

  • Clicking on cogs and toons has been disabled until the feature better aligns with the overall flow of the game.
  • Animated prop buffs has been disabled until the feature better aligns with the vision of the game.
  • All Cogs except Flunky has been removed from the streets.
  • Debug Gags (Golden Cupcake, Red Cupcake) has been removed from the loadout by default.

Modifications

  • Massive network refactor which allows faster development of new messages.
  • Input System refactor which may break some existing functionality.
  • Animated props behavior has been reworked.
  • Cogs will join a battle only if there are more Toons that Cogs in the battle.

Bugs

  • Main menu music will no longer be very loud for a brief period.
  • Monkey head fixes.
  • Mouse head fixes.
  • Various minigame bug fixes.
